Buy Your Wristband Here
If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to DJ or were simply curious about how it all works, then this workshop is for you. Over the course of two hours, you’ll learn the fundamental basics of beatmatching, mixing techniques, and EQ manipulation.
You’ll also dive into some music theory to help you understand how musical structure and key can be used to enhance mixes and seamlessly blend tracks together.
DJing is a performance, so you’ll have the chance to put your learning into practice and try out your mixing skills live, in front of your audience of classmates.
This is a fun and relaxed workshop aimed to give you the basic building blocks of DJing so you can start getting to grips with mixing on your own.
There are just three prerequisites for attendees: Bring open ears, your smile, and your enthusiasm.
Maximum participants: 25 – sign-up is required.
Free for wristband holders. Non-wristband holders will pay a fee directly to Nicky on the day.
DJ Nicky Drummond
Originally from the UK but based in her chosen home of Amsterdam, Nicky Drummond has been immersed in dance music since 1998. What began with vinyl and a deep love for rhythm has evolved into a versatile DJ career across the Netherlands and European stages playing at some of the biggest LGBTQI festivals and parties such as L-Fest, Milkshake, Superflirt, Lesbique and the Lesbos Women’s Festival.
Her sets are defined by groove-driven basslines, melodic depth, and carefully selected vocals, shaped by decades behind the decks and a wide-reaching musical passion. Nicky isn’t bound to a single genre but guided by a consistent thread of rhythm and energy that moves through the many spectrums of dance music.
