Clowning for Beginners with Hilary Ramsden
This is a fantastic and unique opportunity to enjoy a brand new workshop delivered by a talented facilitator. If you enjoy fun, humour, laughter and creativity, this workshop could be for you!
The workshop will introduce you to the very basics of clowning: how to find your ridiculousness and stupidity, and how to feel comfortable laughing at yourself and having others laugh at you.
We will examine how humour and comedy work and you will find your clown having fun on stage without having to come up with one-liners and stand-up routines. Depending on demand, we may create a short clown parade.
Hilary Ramsden is a clown, researcher and lecturer in physical and visual theatre, street arts, rebel clown and a Dr. of Walking.
She was a member of internationally acclaimed lesbian-feminist Siren Theatre Company and later co-artistic director of Walk & Squawk in Michigan, USA.
She is a co-founder of the Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army (C.I.R.C.A) uses red noses for revolution.
