DELPHINIA I HOTEL - MOLYVOS
The Delphinia is one of those hotels we just can't help but recommend. The hotel is situated just 1km outside of the main town of Molyvos and 130m from the beach which lies at the edge of the hotel gardens, a true expanse and haven of natural landscape. It even has it's own olive groves. The main building of the hotel houses a spacious and welcoming reception, bar, restaurant with open terrace overlooking the grounds and sea, and rooms with private balconies offering the same stunning view.
There are a total of 68 hotel rooms in the main building as well as individual traditional stone bungalows (see below) and as if all of that wasn't enough there is a super swimming pool with bar and snack bar. There is also table tennis, a playground for children, ample car parking as well as a hotel minibus. A baby sitting service, fax and photocopy services are also available on request.
The hotel also has it's own little village of traditional stone built bungalows. Built in units of four, and landscaped brilliantly into the surrounding gardens, these superb little houses offer the visitor something a little more than the usual hotel room.
Each Bungalow offers it's own private entrance, fully tiled bathroom, living room / bedroom with self catering facilities including fridge and hob, and the largest balconies or terraces we have seen on the island, many with beautiful sea views. The upper bungalows have air-conditioning and television. Stone walkways and staircases will lead you through this mini village and on into the gardens of the hotel, the sporting facilities and the swimming pool and beach. A great way to spend a holiday and for that little added touch of luxury, a whole team of staff is on hand to keep everything spick and span and even serve you breakfast on your own terrace... what more could you possibly need ?
The Delphinia doesn't just provide things for guests to do whilst on holiday... it actually provides some of the best sporting facilities on the island. The four full sized tennis courts are located near to the beach, in fact, you can play to your hearts content and have a sea view!
The hotel basket ball court is also a superb example of the amount of thought which has gone into the design of this complex... but the 'icing on the cake' has to be the amazing full size all weather five-a-side football pitch. What's more, all courts are floodlit for play at any time.
The hotel gardens were designed with the specific intention of keeping every possible tree and shrub as it had existed before building began and the effect is one of natural beauty, stone pathways will lead you through the beautiful grounds past little twists and turns of traditional stone walling and seating areas, old olive pots and even the odd tree swing.
