ereSOS for Animals
EreSOS for Animals is a Non Profit Organisation under Greek law, located in Eresos,the birthplace of the famous Greek poet Sappho, on the island Lesvos, Greece.
It is a response to a demand for structural help for animals that need help. Like anywhere else, also here in Eresos, again and again situations occur where we can’t look away, but are summoned to let our hearts speak and take action.
For example, many of us (tourists and those who live here) find animals in distress. The question however is: what happens then? The tourists fly back, sometimes they take an animal with them, but in many cases the animals stay for a longer period in Eresos, where they need food and often medical care - especially in the winter, when all the guests are gone and the village is like a ghosttown.
The animals are taken care of and, if necessary, we try to find fosterhomes. However, of course, the final goal is to find a real home for every animal, here in Eresos or elsewhere.

Auction / Fundraiser
You too can help to raise money for the care of the animals during the Eressos Women's Festival 2006.
Be the highest bidder at the Auction / Fundraiser night at the Antiopi Hotel for Women and win a breakfast for 2 or some special cocktails at one of the cafes in Skala Eressos or an hour in the Antiopi jaccuzzi for 2 with cocktails in the sunset.
Simply place your bids under the watchful eye fo auctioner Teresa, her funny and playfull presentation will not go un-noticed and you will be more than happy to make your donations ! Many other prizes to be won this evening!

Animal Poetry Performance
Especially for this evening you will be able to listen to work by local writers, many of which have written their poetry inspired by the many furry little friends of Skala Eressos.

The Moon Kantina Cup; Beach Volleyball
ALL proceeds from this competition will go to "EreSOS for Animals" a charity based in Skala Eressos helping animals in need of re-homing and treatments.
